The journey to killing you

The vice captain Kataoka, who is loved by many in the organization for his kind and manly personality, is responsible for a certain disturbance and is ordered by the captain's biological son Kirii to "hide himself until interest cools down," so he goes on a journey to hide his whereabouts.
Assisting Kataoka was Odajima, who had long served as the chief's assistant. From driving and eating to handling his libido, Odajima has been a handy aide, silently fulfilling his role. EP.01

Urged by Kirii to "kill Kataoka immediately and settle a grudge from seven years ago," Odajima recalls the events of the day his best friend Asahi died. Meanwhile, Kataoka meets and befriends Higa, a self-proclaimed "boss" who travels the country, and Komine, a woman with a husband on death row.
After telling Odajima that he is "not going back today," Kataoka goes to the shop where Komine works. Alone, Odajima reminisces about the days he spent with Asahi in the quiet of the harbor at night. Asahi, who admires Kataoka so much, tells her of his dream of one day becoming a man of means and buying his mother a house on a small island. When she asks him to come live with her, he says, "Of course, we're family," to which Odajima is confused.

EP.02

Odajima takes Kataoka on a boat to a small island, with no destination or purpose in mind. They arrive at a deserted place, at the edge of the island, where weeds grow unnoticed. The two take up scythes and begin to cut the weeds, gradually revealing the grave of Asahi, a close friend of Odajima's who could not be buried in the family plot because he was a Yakuza. In front of him, Odajima speaks quietly. "You killed Asahi." .......
Meanwhile, Kirii, who had become increasingly agitated by Odajima's failure to kill Kataoka, was planning to infiltrate a new assassin.

EP.03

"You're the first man I've ever met," Odajima unexpectedly confesses, and Kataoka, surprised, makes up her mind and declares her intention to marry him. When Odajima returns from the island, he is stabbed in the stomach by an assassin, and Kataoka is stabbed in the back of the head as he steps off the boat. Luckily, the wound is not life-threatening, and Kataoka is taken to the hospital where he survives.
Odajima realizes that Kirii is behind the attack, but Kirii tells him, "There are other people who want Kataoka. Be careful before someone else kills him," and escapes. Back in the hospital room, Odajima tries to strangle Kataoka as he sleeps, but is unable to....
At the same time, the obituary of Seijo Kirii, the third in command, arrives. As Kataoka prepares to return to the organization, Odajima tells him, "If you go, you will die."

EP.04

Kataoka and Odajima show up at the funeral of Kirii Seijo, the third-generation warlord. Amidst the tension, as Seijo's wife Kyoka reads his will, the assassin who stabbed Kataoka in the harbor reappears and pulls the trigger of a pistol. The bullet misses, but the funeral home is thrown into a panic, and after a scuffle, the assassin points his gun at Kataoka again. At that moment, Odajima immediately throws himself at Kataoka, wrapping his arms around him. The hand that he thought would take his life, he unknowingly chose to protect. Asahi realized now why he had protected Kataoka seven years ago, even at the cost of his own life. And then a shot rang out.

EP.05

In the hospital, Odajima looks at Kataoka's unconscious face as if in prayer. After finally understanding why his former friend Asahi died protecting Kataoka, Odajima goes to Kirii's side with a certain determination in his heart. He throws 200 million yen in cash and an IC recorder with Kirii's voice ordering him to kill Kataoka, and announces that he is leaving the organization. Then, in a car parked on a pier by the sea, Odajima quietly reaches for his gun as Kataoka sleeps.
