The journey to killing you UNCUT

Deputy leader Kataoka, beloved by many members for his deep loyalty and manly character, received an order from the boss's biological son, Kirii, to "lay low until his interest wanes" as a form of taking responsibility for some incident. He thus went into hiding and set off on a journey. Assisting such Kataoka was Odajima, who had long served the boss. From driving and meals to handling sexual desires, Odajima silently fulfilled his role as a convenient aide. Yet, within his heart lay a "hidden mission." Odajima had received an order from Kirii to "kill" Kataoka. The image of Odajima aiming a gun at Kataoka's back as he fished at the pier...

EP.01

Oda-jima, urged by Kirii to "kill Kataoka immediately and settle the grudge from seven years ago," recalls the events of the day his close friend Asahi died. Meanwhile, Kataoka meets and befriends Komine, a woman married to Higawa, a death row inmate who calls himself a "boss" and travels the country.
Telling Oda-jima, "I won't be returning tonight," Kato-oka heads to the shop where Komine works. Left alone, Oda-jima stands in the quiet night harbor, remembering the days he spent with Asahi. Asahi, who greatly admired Kataoka, once shared his dream: that someday he would succeed and buy a house for his mother living on a small island. Hearing Asahi say, "You should live there too," Oda-jima is taken aback. Asahi replies, "Of course. We're family."

EP.02

Oda-jima took Katakawa aboard a boat without revealing either their destination or purpose, heading toward a small island. The place they arrived at was at the very edge of the island, an inconspicuous spot overgrown with weeds, devoid of any human presence. The two men took up sickles and began cutting the weeds. Gradually revealed was the grave of Asahi, Odajima's close friend who, because he was a yakuza, could not be buried in the family tomb. Standing before it, Odajima spoke quietly. "You killed Asahi." Meanwhile, growing increasingly anxious because Oda-jima had not yet killed Kataoka, Kirii was devising a plan to infiltrate a new assassin.

EP.03

"You're my first man." Surprised yet resolved by Oda-jima's unexpected confession, Kataoka declares their marriage. Caught off guard and flustered, Oda-jima returns from the island and steps off the boat. The moment he looks away, an assassin strikes, and Kataoka is stabbed. Fortunately, her life was not in danger, and Katoaka, transported to the hospital, survives. Odaima investigates whether Kirii is behind it, but Kirii slips away, saying, "There are others out there who want Katoaka dead. Be careful before someone else kills her." Returning to the hospital room, Odajima attempts to strangle the sleeping Katakōka to death, but... Just then, news arrives of the death of the third-generation boss, Kirii Seizō. As Katakōka prepares to return to the organization, Odajima tells him, "If you go, you die."

EP.04

Kataoka and Odajima appeared at the funeral of Kirii Seizo, the third-generation boss. Amidst the palpable tension, just as Seizo's wife Kyoka was about to read his will, the assassin who had stabbed Kataoka at the port reappeared and pulled the trigger of his pistol. The bullet missed, but the funeral hall erupted in horror. After a melee, the assassin aimed the gun at Katakawa again. In that instant, Odajima threw himself forward, shielding Katakawa. The hand that had intended to take a life had, without realizing it, chosen to protect. Only now did he understand why Asahi had sacrificed his life to protect Katōka seven years ago. And then, the gunshot rang out.

EP.05

Katakawa, unconscious, is transported to the hospital. Oda-jima gazes at his face as if praying. Having finally learned why his former friend Asahi died protecting Katakawa, Oda-jima approaches Kirii with resolve. Then, he throws the 200 million yen in cash and the IC recorder containing Kirii's voice ordering Katoaka's death, declaring his intention to leave the organization. And, in the car parked at the seaside pier, beside the sleeping Katoaka, Odajima quietly takes a gun in his hand.
