After being dumped, Shizuma Ikushima goes to a mixed-gender bar with her college friends to drown her sorrows. As she gets drunk, she strikes up a conversation with Minato Mito, a cameraman sitting next to her. The conversation gets steamy, and before she knows it, the two of them end up at a love hotel… However, the next day, Shizuma has no memory of what happened. Angered by this, Minato starts a bet with the mix bar crew: “Can we make Shizuma fall for us?” Determined to heal Shizuma’s broken heart, make her fall for him, and then dump her right in front of everyone, Minato goes to meet Shizuma for the bet.

EP.01

Minato comes to Shizuma’s university to give him his student ID. Shizuma apologizes for what happened that morning. Teasing Shizuma by saying, “Feel free to contact me anytime you’re lonely or in trouble,” Minato gives him his number, but grows anxious when he doesn’t hear from him afterward. Meanwhile, Shizuma, too, was beginning to realize his feelings for Minato. Just then, Yuka comes to return the tickets to the amusement park where they used to go together every year on Shizuma’s birthday. Shizuma calls Minato and suggests an overnight date at the amusement park. The day of the date arrives. Surrounded by happy smiles at the amusement park, only Minato’s expression remains somber.

EP.02

Using the amusement park tickets Yuka gave them back, Shizuma and Minato go on their first date. However, Minato looks gloomy. Determined to cheer him up, Shizuma does her best to make him feel at ease. As a result, Minato—who had seemed so cold—begins to smile innocently, and Shizuma finds herself falling even deeper for him… That night, the two end up staying at a hotel. They spend a warm evening reminiscing about their date. Minato asks Shizuma if she’s going to stay the night, since it’s such a rare opportunity, and invites her into bed. Looking at Minato, Shizuma says…

EP.03

Although Minato had bet on making Shizuma fall for him, he begins to genuinely develop feelings for her after being touched by her pure, tender sentiment that she “wants to cherish him.” Minato struggles with the fact that he doesn’t want to hurt Shizuma and tries to apologize for the bet, but he misses his chance and ends up parting ways without saying anything.
Later, when Shizuma visits the bar “Gambit” to return an item Minato had left behind, she overhears Minato discussing the bet with his colleagues, saying, “If it were me, I could definitely make her fall for me.”

EP.04

Shizuma throws herself into her studies in an attempt to shake off her feelings for Minato. When Minato tries to apologize, she responds coldly over the phone. Minato, having caught a cold after getting caught in the rain, has been spending all his time in bed. At a bar, Shizuma hears from Mama about the day she met Minato and realizes that Minato had special feelings for her from the very beginning. Under the pretext of returning the choker she found in her bag, she goes to visit him. However, the person who opened the door was a stranger…

EP.05

Though Minato and Shizuma have reconciled and their love continues to grow, Minato feels anxious about truly letting himself fall for someone due to past trauma. Then, Shizuma’s internship begins, and as their time together and communication dwindle, Minato starts to feel lonely. Minato decorates her room with the cosmos flowers she received from Itsuki. Though she says they’re hard to keep alive, the buds bloom as if sensing her feelings. After receiving a photo of the cosmos from Minato, Shizuma promises to come see them the following afternoon. However, Shizuma calls from his internship site to say that a foal has become immobilized…

EP.06

Itsuki proposes that they move in together to Shōhei. When Minato finds out about their plans, he says he’s never even considered living with someone else, causing a rift with Shizuma, who supports the couple. Finally, on moving day, Yoko, the mother of the Ikushima family, sees them off with tears in her eyes. Later, Minato invites Shizuma over to her place to break the ice. Just as she’s about to spend some alone time with Shizuma, Shizuma’s ex-girlfriend, Yuka, calls. She explains, “Soga has gone into labor, but she has no one to rely on, so I’d like you to help her.” Minato sends Shizuma off to assist with Soga’s delivery.

EP.07

Shizuma visits Itsuki to learn about Minato’s past. There, he learns that when Minato was a child, his mother—who had developed a mental illness after his father took a mistress—took her anger out on him. Using the address Itsuki gave him as a guide, Shizuma heads to the town where Minato grew up. Upon finding out, Minato rushes after Shizuma. Though the trauma from his childhood resurfaces, leaving him unable to move his legs, he steels himself, telling himself that Shizuma is there. However, when he calls Shizuma, all he hears is a message saying, “You are in an area with no signal”…

EP.08

Minato and Shizuma spent the night together at Minato’s childhood home. The next day, Minato tells Shizuma that he wants to become someone worthy of her feelings and asks for some time. The day after returning to his hometown, Minato received advice from Shōhei: “When you feel anxious, think back on the things that made you happy.” Following this advice, he looked through his old photos and reminisced about the past, and his heart swelled with emotion, bringing tears to his eyes. Minato decided to confess his feelings and made plans to meet Shizuma.
