Ji-han, who has failed the Grim Reaper exam eight times, descends to the mortal world after receiving a final assignment from his senior, Kang-hyun: to bring back a deceased soul within five days. However, while bumping into Jae-hyun, he accidentally spills coffee on the Book of the Dead, causing the names to smudge. Faced with two people—‘Hyun-jun’ and ‘Yung-hee’—who bear marks resembling the smudged characters, Ji-han is at a loss, unable to tell which one is the real deceased.
