Lee Il-jo, a disadvantaged illegitimate child, is abused by his half-brother Seo Jeong-in at his father’s funeral and ends up seeking refuge at the home of his cousin, Seo Jeong-han. Il-jo impulsively kisses Jeong-han while he is drunk. Il-jo is later hospitalized for gallstones, and the prickly Jeong-han pays the 4 million won surgery fee on his behalf. Jeong-han demands that Il-jo “pay off this debt with his body” and proposes a contract stating that “all of Il-jo’s rights belong to Seo Jeong-han.” As a result, Il-jo moves into Jeong-han’s house to serve him. Initially indifferent, Jeong-han gradually becomes drawn to the innocent and desperate Il-jo. Their relationship deepens both physically and emotionally, and Jeong-han begins to develop a strong obsession and possessiveness toward Il-jo.
