Burnout Syndrome

Ji-ra, an art major, makes a living by painting while juggling various jobs, such as filming and acting. After facing setbacks—including her employer’s unilateral decision to halt a shoot and a failed audition—she visits the “Burnout Bar,” which her friend In introduced her to. There, Ji-ra meets Pim, and later, after running into Kwa-do by chance, a breath of fresh change begins to sweep through her daily life...

EP.01

Ji-ra signs an NDA with Kkeo and begins working with him. Kkeo orders Pim to lay off the entire department, and Ji-ra steps in to negotiate with Thames on Kkeo’s behalf. She wins over Thames and successfully concludes the negotiations, but when she learns of Kkeo’s true intentions, she declares she will quit her job. Later, he meets Pim again at the Burnout Bar and opens up about his true feelings...

EP.02

Ji-ra vows never to work with Kkeo again, but when Ing persuades her by saying, “It seems like you’re getting inspiration from Kkeo,” she asks Kkeo to be her art model and they decide to work together again. While sketching Kkeo, Jira hears stories about his past, and Kkeo—who suffers from insomnia—falls asleep for once. Later, unable to sleep again, Kkeo forcibly calls Jira out while she’s on a date with Pim and asks her to sleep with him…

EP.03

Kkeo believes that Jira is the reason he was able to fall asleep during the day, so he keeps him by his side. The next day, while teaching Jira how to swim, he notices Jira is having trouble breathing and teaches him how to hold his breath with a kiss. Whenever Kkeo can’t sleep, he contacts Jira, and Jira can’t stop thinking about him. Meanwhile, Jira attends the award ceremony on Kkeo’s behalf after he is selected as the app award winner, and upon hearing his speech, Ma Yun flies into a rage and throws a bag filled with urine at Jira…

EP.04

Kkeo visits the Burnout Bar to try to calm Jira down, but things don’t go as planned. Ben offers some advice to Kkeo, who’s been left alone, and Kkeo goes all the way to Jira’s house to see him. While Jira is sketching Kkeo, who has fallen asleep during their conversation, Pim misinterprets the situation. However, after Jira clears up the misunderstanding, he asks her out on a date. Jira tries to sketch Pim at the gallery but finds it difficult to get into the mood, so the two of them end up heading to Jira’s house…

EP.05

Jira refuses to have a relationship with Pim, and Ing warns her that she’ll be drawn to a bad guy like Kkeo. Kkeo makes a bet with Jira that if he guesses her favorite flower, she’ll have to work late—and he ends up guessing it correctly. Afterward, Kkeo takes Jira home to draw a picture, then secretly calls Pim and reveals that he knows about their relationship. He then tells the two of them to either break up or quit their jobs…

EP.06

Jira tries unsuccessfully to calm Pim’s anger and seeks advice from Ing. With Ing’s help, Jira obtains information from Ma Yun and meets Pim at the Rage Room, where she is inspired by his anger and begins to paint. Meanwhile, Kkeo, who has been suffering from insomnia, clings to Jira relentlessly; after following her all the way to the club, he eventually collapses. Jira has no choice but to take him back to the hotel and stay by his side…

EP.07

After spending the night at Kkeo’s house, Jira receives a call from Pim and lies to both Kkeo and Pim, saying she spoke with Ing. Later, Kkeo takes Jira to the house where he used to live, and in front of a photo of his mother, he declares that he wants to trust Jira. In the rain, Jira kisses Kwo first, and the two become intimate. Meanwhile, Ma Yun advises Pim to give up on Jira, but Pim refuses to back down…

EP.08

Ji-ra finally tells Pim that they should just stay friends. When Ji-ra goes to Kkeo’s house, she creates a work of art using computer parts Kkeo no longer uses, and the two talk about art and AI, but they are unable to bridge their differences in opinion. Later, Ji-ra becomes furious with Kkeo for testing AI software without her permission, and their differing views on AI clash once again. Eventually, Ji-ra breaks up with Kkeo…

EP.09

Jira asks Pim to delete her data that has been fed into the AI, but her request fails. Kkeo comes to find Jira and begs her to come back, but she refuses. Later, Kkeo and Pim get into a physical altercation at the Burnout Bar, and Jira and Kkeo end up breaking up for good. One year later, Pim visits Jira’s solo exhibition and has a heart-to-heart conversation with her in front of one of her paintings. Eventually, with Pim’s help, Jira and Kkeo are reunited…
